The property is accessed through a gated entrance on Ave. Perimetral Norte 10.547. Passing the guard house (120 m2: 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, deck), a 700 meter paved driveway through “mata atlantica”, following the course of a river, leads to the house. Even before reaching the lanai that serves as a garage, visitors immediately encounter breathtaking 180 degree views of the ocean below, and in the distance, the purple mountains of the continent. You know you have reached “Ciribai”, the Tupinamba name for “quiet place”—far away from noise and pollution, in your own piece of Paradise.
The house is totally integrated into its natural environment—so much so that from the sea, it is barely discernible. Visible are many different species of native trees and palms, as well as tropical flowers of all shapes and colors. Descending the stone steps that wind through lush and exuberant vegetation towards the house, the visitor will encounter a small waterfall that feeds a pond filled with colorful koi. The first of the four bungalows which serve as bedrooms is only a few feet away at this point. Each individual cottage consists of a bedroom with a sitting area, bathroom, kitchenette—all with ceiling fans and air conditioning, and each one with a private deck. Two of them have Jacuzzi tubs on the decks; one of them has a “loft” format with a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom as well as a large private deck with a kiosk. There is even a working fireplace in one of the cottages.
The main house sprawls below. Between the main living room (which also has a fireplace) and the kitchen/dining room (very spacious and fully equipped) is the “soul” of the house—an expansive, open family room (120m2) with a spiral thatched roof that houses a barbecue area, woodburning pizza oven, two full bathrooms, and hanging hammocks. Directly in front of this area is a free form infinity swimming pool, flanked by two large decks on either side. The house continues below the main level: on one side is a playroom with a sauna, pool table and foosball. A few steps away, nestled in luxuriant vegetation, is a covered Jacuzzi tub that fits 8 and, 15 feet below, a fishing deck. On the other side is a maid’s room, a laundry room, and steps leading to the waterfront, where an inox ladder allows for ocean swimming.
Without a doubt, you have reached Paradise.
